Amway / Quixtar Clowns

Got a phone call from “S&R Marketing” the other day upon referral from a business acquaintance.

1 Hour phone / web presentation with pretty professional presentation only to find at end of spiel that it was a Multi-level Marketing using Quixtar.com, which as it turns out is Amway online. Lots of pro’s & con’s about Amway/Quixtar. I just want to mention this friendly joker in event that others are approached by him.

Here are some links in case you have not read about Quixtar:

  1. I wonder if anyone has done some social science research on Amway reps and former Amway reps. You have to wonder at their self-esteem– if their spiels delay “the truth” until the end and if they have to change their brand name to Quixtar because the old brand has so many negative associations, what must it do to the reps to KNOW this and soldier on? What are the various resources and strategies for dealing with the stigma? Anyway, thanks for the links.

  2. I imagine that their faith in their enterprise blinds them to any information to the contrary.

    Thanks for writing!

  3. Here’s a link to an argument I made about alot of questions/issues people have about Quixtar:

Now maybe ‘this jokers’ presentation was professional because HE was a professional! He’s a business owner! And he was offering You an opportunity but because of what some negative sites said you passed it up. Hey passing up the oppirtunity is not a big deal, its not for everyone, plain and simple. But to blow it off, and them Bash him online, because of what you read on a blogsite?? That’s frickin nuts!

Hey you like negative sites? Here check these out!

Well I guess everyone should stop:
    -shopping at Walmart
    -driving GM cars
    -and using Microsoft Windows!

  4. Tony of Quixtar fame:

    LOL! Thanks for writing!

Are you so well off financially that you have time to troll blogs?
    :)
Maybe there is something to this Quixtar thing after all …..

  5. Tony,
I happen to dislike all 3 of those companies as well; you happen to pick companies that keep getting in bad situations (sweatshops, monopolies…). I encourage everyone not to shop at walmart, to switch operating systems from Windows when possible, and to find the transportation alternative that works best for them while conserving fuel (I ride a moped to and from work on fair-weather days, and drive an fuel-efficient mid-range car other days). I also encourage people not to join Quixtar/Amway. By telling people not to believe what folks say on the internet, you’re insinuating that the blog, forum, or website authors are liars even though they often provide credible sources and reference the allegations that they make.

  6. Tony, you are close, but not quite right — I love WalMart. (That’s positive, not negative.)

It’s one Amway tactic with which I take issue. See post for example:

Thanks for the link anyway. Do let me know how business is going.

    We all could be wrong.

    Best,
    Jack

  7. Quixtar is BULLSHIT

    Tony,

You are a bumbling idiot… and I hope you rot in hell forever. I spent the past few days researching Quixtar and you seem to post this sort of crap EVERYWHERE! Take a look at his webpage… go here:
    http://www.thisbiznow.com/quixtar/documents/18606_ByNumbers_fin.pdf

LOOK AT THE BOTTOM OF PAGE 2!!! The average IBO had a gross income of $115!!! WOO HOO!!! If you take into account how much time they put in to earn that (10-20hours a week) some of them make as much as $2-$4 per hour!!! and that isn’t taking into account expenses like gas for all those trips to “show the plan” and it doesn’t take into account all of the money IBOs spend on brainwashing tools or event tickets!

    Quixtar is a cult!

Quixbots don’t know the difference between GROSS and NET income (many IBO’s LOSE money every month!)

  8. Yes, Tony is right in that all major companies have lawsuits filed against them. It seems inevitable. However, there are MAJOR differences between quixtar and other major companies.

Example: McDonald’s had a suit filed against them because a lady spillled (overly hot) coffee on herself. WalMart had someone slip and fall down. Microsoft had some software problems.

Quixtar has numerous suits filed against the company over motivational tools and corruption.
    Big difference.

  9. Hi everyone!!!!! I’m a born again christian and a firm believer in the Quixtar system as well as S&RMarketing…….the owner is a spirit filled christian, a caring man, a successful business owner who wants to help people, and a great dad:)

  10. Thanks for posting Daughter. I hope your faith sees you and your father through to success.

From what I could see of Amway, a heavy dose of faith is required to participate.

  11. So this page continues to get visitors who are searching for “Quixtar Bullshit” and “quixtar is bullshit”. To those folks, and any others, I encourage you to post your experiences with Quixtar!

  12. Quixtar is a horrible way to make a buck. You have to scam people into joining and bankrupt yourself buying overpriced products.
